BELLEVUE, Wash. — Feb. 7, 2025 — T-Mobile (NASDAQ: TMUS) today announced a $50,000 contribution to five nonprofit organizations, reinforcing its commitment to supporting communities where its employees live and work. With the latest round of T-Mobile's Difference Maker Award, a quarterly employee recognition program, Team Magenta teammates who support customers in Southern California had the opportunity to champion causes they care deeply about by giving back to organizations making a difference in the Southwest.
The selected nonprofits — Alzheimer’s San Diego, Barrett Foundation, Operation SafeHouse, Rady Children’s Hospital and Wounded Heroes of America — each received $10,000 to advance their work in areas like healthcare, housing and youth programs. T-Mobile employees also teamed up with these organizations for a hands-on day of service, amplifying the impact of their contributions.
“Our employees are the heart of T-Mobile, and the Difference Maker Award gives them a powerful way to turn their passion into real impact,” said Jon Freier, President, T-Mobile Consumer Group. “It’s all about recognizing their hard work and supporting causes they care deeply about, making life better for so many people in the communities we serve.”
Here’s a closer look at how each organization is making a difference.
- Alzheimer's San Diego — Alzheimer's San Diego's mission is to enhance the quality of life of those affected by all dementias in San Diego County through supportive services, education, social connection, and community awareness. Services are provided to the local community through every stage of the dementia journey not only to caregivers, but also to those living with memory loss or dementia, including those who live alone with dementia.
- Barrett Foundation — Since 1985, Barrett Foundation has been committed to ending the experience of homelessness for women and children in Albuquerque, NM, by providing shelter, housing, and supportive services.
- Operation SafeHouse Inc. — Provides emergency shelter, intervention and outreach services to run away, homeless or other youth in crisis. SafeHouse offers youth positive alternatives to becoming victims of the streets.
- Rady Children's Hospital San Diego — Ranked as one of the top 10 children's hospitals in the nation, Rady Children's Hospital San Diego provides the most advanced treatment and comprehensive care to young patients and families from across Southern California. Now part of Rady Children’s Health, its leading programs and specialties save lives and brighten futures for children throughout the San Diego region and around the world.
- Wounded Heroes of America — Ensures our heroes are not forgotten or alone, dedicated to connecting wounded (OIF) Iraq and (OEF) Afghanistan veterans with the resources they need to re-enter and adjust to civilian life, supporting veteran families in southern California communities.
