The Arlington County Fire Department first brought in FLORIAN for its firefighter localization project to track firefighters who are outside their vehicles.
Before FLORIAN, the Arlington County Fire Department relied on verbal Personnel Accountability Reports (PAR) every 10 minutes to relay information and track their firefighters in the field. Now that location and status updates are automatically provided in real time, the department can quickly make better-informed decisions and reduce radio voice traffic.
