Quest no longer works with T-Mobile Home Internet
I have a Occulus (T-mobile won't allow the use of the M*** name for some reason) Quest 2 that used to work with T-Mobile Home Internet but doesn't any longer. Looking through this forum and other it seems to be related to the Sagemcom Fast 5688W (dark grey) router with firmware 1.102.5c. Telephone support did not have any way to resolve, but did acknowledge a known issue with Wi-Fi clients repeatedly disconnecting from the router, which is exaclty what I'm experiencing with the Quest. They agreed to ship me another of the exact same router but said it would have the same issue because it's a problem with the hardware. I don't know if anyone else has found a better workaround. I've tried a dedicated 2.4Ghz network just for this device, a static IP, and even another router behind the T-mobile one and none of it works.captainbukko2 days agoNetwork Novice13Views0likes0CommentsMy Q and T-Mobile internet $#!%$
We got the t-mobile internet about a month ago. All our devices are connecting to it EXCEPT the Chamberlain My Q. (Actually, it connected, worked for a couple days, disconnected, connected for a few more days, disconnected, now nothing). After about an hour and 2 phone calls with Chamberlain, when they asked about my router and I told them t-mobile, their response was, "Oh." So, they sent am email with a list of things to check with t-mobile. On with T-mobile for about 30 minutes, the tech couldn't help me, spoke with his supervisor, and came back with, "well, there's nothing we can do. Talk to the manufacturer." I told him that this is not an unknown issue, I am not the first person to have this, nor will I be the last. There are posts going back 4 years and they should know a fix by now! Enough of the finger-pointing! I need a solution! Anyone...anyone???Fireflye3 days agoNetwork Novice27Views0likes0Comments5G Gateway intermittent outage
Should any representative see this , this is a formal complaint about continual disruptions of service and continued rebooting and reconnecting of devices. I've already replaced one gateway and just months into service I am having the same issues. I'm wondering if you , any of you who represent T-Mobile , understand the frustration and annoyance with having not only continual interrupts of service , but having to go though the process of reconnection time after time after time minutes apart from each other. One selling point was being located within less than 50 yards of your cell tower. For a company that claims to be the world leader in cell communications , I expect better. Perhaps less dollars spent on advertising and more on technological advanced and upkeep is due? I recently stumbled into the TM problem with SMTP sending emails - and having our TM Gateway and it's external IP address being blocked as per the internet Spam databases. Rebooting the TM gets us a different external IP address and all is good for sending SMTP emails again. https://whatismyipaddress.com/ Was wondering if our gateway external IP address expires after X number of days - or how long are we able to hold the same external IP address ?PS56k11 days agoTransmission Trainee68Views0likes0CommentsThere are no devices to display
Is anybody else having the same issue as me where you cannot access the devices that are connected to your Wi-Fi through the T-Life app? I have tried everything multiple times (rebooting my router, uninstalling and reinstalling the app, factory resetting my router). And, yes, I’ve spent endless hours talking to customer support and they have zero solutions. I did a factory reset on my router yesterday and all my devices - connected and offline - showed up briefly, but have since disappeared, so I am yet again getting the “There are no device devices to display” message in the app.dmirsky12 days agoNetwork Novice85Views1like1CommentT-Life advanced cellular metrics and HINT no longer showing LTE signal info.
For those noticing recent performance issues with the T-Mobile Home Internet 4GAR gateway, it is most likely due to the latest firmware v1.00.13 upgrade. With this upgrade, T-Mobile has transitioned to the 5G Standalone enablement. This is the process of deploying and utilizing a 5G network that operates independently of the existing 4G LTE infrastructure. Basically, no more LTE. I have been noticing issues since this upgrade with SLOW internet speeds, long web page loads, etc.. Even though the gateway is showing full bars, I can do a speedtest when I see these issues start and my download speed barely reaches 1Mbps. I've noticed this on my MacBook, iPhone, PC, you name it. However, when this occurs, I just turn the WiFi off on the device, turn it back on and the speedtest is back to normal with downloads reaching 400+Mbps. I thought I would share this because I have noticed an uptick in forum posts regarding these performance issues and after doing a little research, I'm pretty sure I have found the reason why. Even Bell users in Canada have been experiencing the same issues with their deployment to 5G SA. This standalone architecture includes a 5G core network, radio access network (RAN), and enhanced transport capabilities, which together support network slicing and edge computing, enabling tailored services for specific use cases.45 Operators are increasingly focusing on standalone 5G networks due to their potential to deliver improved latency, network slicing, and IoT capabilities, which are crucial for enterprise services and creating new revenue streams.4 However, the transition to standalone 5G requires significant investment in OSS/BSS (Operations Support Systems and Business Support Systems) to ensure service performance visibility and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).4 Service providers like Deutsche Telekom offer 5G SA Roaming Enablement services that provide secure interconnect between 5G networks, ensuring end-to-end confidentiality and integrity for roaming messages.2 These services are designed to support business needs by enhancing security while reducing cost and complexity.2 Despite the benefits, standalone 5G deployment faces challenges such as the need for extensive mid-band coverage and densification, which can be time-consuming and costly.5 Additionally, some users, particularly in Canada, have reported difficulties in accessing standalone 5G services from providers like Bell, highlighting the ongoing transition and implementation challenges.3 In summary, 5G standalone enablement is a critical step towards realizing the full potential of 5G technology, offering enhanced capabilities and services, but it requires substantial investment and careful planning to overcome deployment challenges.456+1I_AM_GENO_22 months agoNewbie Caller530Views1like2CommentsCatch-22 problem
Catch-22 problem Good Cell and Poor Wifi or Poor Cell and Good WiFi your choice. The TMO-G4AR Gateway performs well enough 80mips down / 10 up most hours of the day if the Gateway is in a Window. I get a better performance with the Gateway on a 6 foot step ladder in my driveway and my laptop wired. There is a design problem I get tolerable service with Gateway in my driveway but WiFi to the inside of my house it poor. I guess I could mount the Gateway on the roof with a plastic bag for weather protection and run an Ethernet cable to my own router. Can anyone recommend an external mount antenna with 20 - 30 feet of cable for this TMO-G4AR Gateway.magenta13066312 months agoRoaming Rookie92Views0likes0CommentsHome Internet and IRS free file fillable forms
