moving e-sim from one phone to another

I haven’t done this, but will try it as soon as my new iPhone 14 Pro is delivered. I just logged into my account page, clicked the “Upgrade” button under the image of my phone, then clicked “bring your own device”. This takes you to a page (and here I stopped, perforce!) where you can enter the IMEI for the new phone and select eSIM, keep same number, etc. 

So it looks like this is a “normal” use case, I guess I’ll find out in a few days. Post here if you try this and it works!
