Physical SIM to eSim

I am upgrading my current dual SIM iPhone 12 to an iPhone 14 Pro.  I ordered the new phone through Apple with the option to connect to any carrier later.  I’m trying to get the iPhone 12 ready for migration.    Question:  Under Settings/General/About/ICCID, there is a long number filled in.  I’m told this means there is a physical SIM card in the phone.  Also under Settings/General/About/EID, there is a similar long number filled in.  Does this mean I’ll be ready to migrate when the new phone arrives?  Or, is there something else I need to do first?  Thank you for taking the time to help.
