Going on a cruise...

    What @syaoran says is correct. Shipboard roaming is expensive, at best. AFAIK, in port roaming in the Caribbean (except Cuba) is all reasonable. Here are my hints for safe, cost-effective international roaming.

I’m sorry but this is just flat wrong. Just about every cruise ship afloat has a cellular system which they activate when at sea. Use of these systems is very expensive.

You can check your cruise coverage here. We recommend that you turn off roaming while the ship is docked in a US port. Otherwise, your phone may pick up the ship's network, and you'll be charged cruise ship roaming charges for any usage. Once you're out to sea, you can turn roaming back on and pay for the data, text, and voice you use.
