Joined T-Mobile 1 week ago and got new phone - not getting texts from certain people
One week ago I added a line to my sister’s T-Mobile plan and got an iPhone 13. Previously, I was on Google Fi with a Pixel 5, which runs over T-Mobile’s network in my area. The phone numbers for me and my husband were ported over, which they said was successful. However, I am not receiving texts from numerous people, including my sister, who is on the same plan. Others will receive my texts (SMS, not imessage since they’re android users), but I do not get their replies. MMS group messages seem to work fine, but if my sister tries sending me an individual MMS message, I don’t receive it. I spent over an hour on the phone with support two days ago, and it took me about 30 minutes just to get them to understand the issue. Everything we tried was unsuccessful. What’s is messed up is my husband and I came from the exact same former carrier, and exact same previous phone, but he is not having this issue. I’ve missed important texts from my boss about my work schedule. I can’t waste more time on this. I’m giving it until the end of the weekend before I cancel the extra lines and go back to Fi. If you can help, I’ll try anything at this point. Things I have already tried, some directed by T-Mobile support and some suggestions found online:
- Removed and reinserted the SIM card on the new phone
- Disabled iMessage
- Reset network settings
- Updated iPhone to newest iOS update
- Signed out of google account on old phone
- removed SIM completely from old phone
- Factory reset BOTH old and new phones
- And please God don’t ask me if “the numbers are on the block list” like support did 4 times. THE NUMBERS ARE NOT ON MY BLOCK LIST.

I'm having a similar but not exactly same issue as you. Roughly 2 weeks ago while still with T-Mobile, iPhones couldn't text my S22. Tried it with 2 different people and get an undelivered error message. Switched to Fi yesterday and still having the exact issue. Tried everything including wiping the app, phone, deleting and reentering contact info. Nothing works. Everyone else can text me but them. Hell, my wife on the same account for both has no issues with said iPhones. So I'm at the point not sure if it's carrier (T-Mobile) or iphone related since it's 2 separate ones on different carriers.

Bumping this thread to see for any solutions as I’m seeing the exact same problem with my google pixel 6 after moving from Verizon to Tmobile

Wow! I don’t have a clue. I’d think that T-Mobile-to-T-Mobile would be no problem. I’d give @TMobileHelp a try before giving up.

They are all T-Mobile users (as far as I know). Two of them are on my same group plan, but its not everyone on the group plan. If my husband and I turn off imessage, we can text each other through SMS without issues. However, I don’t receive texts from my sister and brother, who are also on the same group plan.

Interesting that it’s selective. Sometimes, voice and text ports complete at different times. This is reasonable because they employ completely different systems. The idea that texts don’t come through from some people is odd. Do you know which carriers the other people (the ones whose texts don’t get through) are using? Is there any consistency on that front?
A lot of people are having issues with T-Mobile’s offshored call centers. Have you tried @TMobileHelp on Twitter?

Update - I just tried the SIM in my Pixel 5, and still had the same issue. This is definitely a T-Mobile network issue. Can someone please help with this?!
