Problems with 5G

I keep getting notices from TM suggesting I “enhance” my cell service to 5G.  But whenever I’ve been on 5G, I lose data (in downtown Seattle) and android auto stops working.  I tried all kinds of troubleshooting before reading somewhere that 5G could be problematic, flipped back to LTE and problem solved.  I try 5G every once in awhile and nope, no change.  I fail to see any benefits, so I’ve pretty much given up.  Maybe when I get a new phone I’ll try again. Has anyone else had the same problem?
