As executive vice president and chief communications and corporate responsibility officer at T-Mobile, and director of the T-Mobile Foundation, Janice V. Kapner leads the team of storytellers, communicators, sustainability experts, brand ambassadors and event producers who shape and share the Un-carrier story with the world. Her team aims to advance T-Mobile’s mission to be the best in the world at connecting customers to their world through impactful storytelling, memorable experiences, and doing good for our communities and our world. She’s at the helm of letting everyone know that T-Mobile isn’t just famous for having the nation’s largest, fastest, and most awarded 5G network, but also for the industry-leading value and best-in-class experiences that T-Mobile provides.

Joining T-Mobile in 2013, Janice played an instrumental role in spearheading and crafting the Un-carrier story at a pivotal moment in the company’s history as we evolved from challenger to champion. This strategy was an industry-first, using provocative PR stunts to tell the story of how T-Mobile's revolutionary business moves fix the broken industry by listening to customers, solving pain points, and revolutionizing wireless for good.

Prior to joining T-Mobile, Janice spent 10 years at Microsoft, holding various leadership positions before becoming the head of worldwide communications for Microsoft Office. She launched her career in marketing and public relations by assisting with major acquisitions and IPOs for start-up companies in Silicon Valley.

Janice has been recognized as a “Leading Woman in PR” by PR News three years in a row, and in 2023, her team was honored by Ragan Communications as the “Corporate Communications Team of the Year”.

T-Mobile has also earned major accolades thanks to the work that Janice’s team owns, being chosen as recipients of the TIME 100 Most Influential Companies award, and as #20 on JUST Capital’s list of America’s most JUST companies (winning the #1 spot in the telecommunications industry for environmental impact). USA Today also honored T-Mobile as one of America's Top Climate Leaders in 2023. 

Janice is passionate about empowering inclusion and belonging within the company and serves as the executive sponsor of T-Mobile's Women and Allies Network. Janice also champions animal rights, supporting several animal advocacy groups in the Seattle area.

A native of the Bay Area, Janice holds a Bachelor's degree in Communications from Sacramento State University. When she takes time to unplug, she loves to tune into exciting action movies, dive into mystery novels, and spend quality time with her family, and beloved dogs.
