Mark Nelson is T-Mobile’s executive vice president & general counsel. He oversees legal and government affairs for the Un-carrier and works alongside an exceptional team of lawyers and other dedicated professionals.

Mark started in this role in October 2021. Before that, he practiced law for more than 25 years at Cleary Gottlieb, where he worked on a broad range of complex matters involving mergers and antitrust counseling, civil and criminal litigation, and regulatory proceedings before federal and state government agencies. Mark has earned distinction as one of the nation’s leading antitrust lawyers and litigators from numerous publications, including Chambers, American Lawyer, Benchmark Litigation, and Legal 500.

Mark Nelson is T-Mobile's executive vice president & general counsel. He oversees legal and government affairs for the Un-carrier and works alongside an exceptional team of lawyers and other dedicated professionals.

Mark started in this role in October 2021. Before that, he practiced law for more than 25 years at Cleary Gottlieb, where he worked on a broad range of complex matters involving mergers and antitrust counseling, civil and criminal litigation, and regulatory proceedings before federal and state government agencies. Mark has earned distinction as one of the nation’s leading antitrust lawyers and litigators from numerous publications, including Chambers, American Lawyer, Benchmark Litigation, and Legal 500.

Mark is no stranger to the Un-carrier. He served as counsel to T-Mobile for two decades, advising on matters that included T-Mobile US’s acquisition of MetroPCS and its merger with Sprint. Mark earned a Juris Doctor from Harvard Law School and a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University.

In his free time, Mark enjoys running, biking, water sports, traveling with his family, watching baseball games, listening to audiobooks, living a vegan lifestyle and sampling the latest craft IPAs. He has also fully embraced the pickleball craze and can often be found honing his skills on a court after work.
