Adding my partners existing phone number to my account
Hi there, I on the unlimted 55+ plan, I would like to add my partner who needs to keep the same phone number that they’ve had for years (with ATT) - Is this possible? and how? thanks Martin
To further add to what @gramps28 said. Don’t close the AT&T account until the port of your partner’s number is complete. There is usually pro-rated charges when porting in a number or adding a line, if it isn’t done when your billing period starts. Don’t forget to give AT&T time to send you a final bill. There is almost always at least one more bill after leaving a carrier.
You need to call Tmobile to see if the number can be ported to T-Mobile once that's done they can iniate the port. Your partner will need to then close their account.
I suggest doing it near the end of your partners billing cycle.
