Issue setting out Outlook email on android for Centurylink email account

I have been trying to set up an Outlook email account with the POP settings for Centurylink for more than a week now unsuccessfully.  Everytime I try to set it up I get an error message that the connection to the mail server timed out.  check settings.  Additionally, I am unable to sent a text message to an email account which I can do just fine on a TRACFone.

I cleaned out the cache, reinstalled Outlook, etc.  Nothing seems to work.

T-mobile says this is a Centurylink issue.  Centurylink says everything is fine on their end and it is a t-mobile issue and I am stuck in the middle with no resolution.  This is beyond ridiculous.  How do I get this crap fixed to I can send a text to an email account AND set up an Outlook email account?  Any help is greatly appreciated.

  • when you click on the comments..scroll down and you will see where it says “Most relevant”..click that and in that list it’ll say “show reviews for-latest version or this device model. “this device model=your device model.

  • It is a new Galaxy A35 5G phone.  I will take a look at your suggestion and see what happens.  T-Mobile finally fixed the text to single email issue but only if I use the internet to access my email.  The emails to my PC via Microsoft Outlook still don’t work and the ones that go to my internet account go to spam :(.  (But at least they actually go through now).  it is progress .

I can’t locate the filter for device type though… will see what I can find.  Thanks again for all of your assistance.

  • older phone or newer phone? wonder if its a limitation with whatever Android update you are on currently compared to what its needing for Outlook?

actually pull up the Play Store and then go to Outlook..go down to the comments and then filter it to your device type only and see what pops up.

  • Thank you for your assistance.  I spent over an hour on the phone with tech support for t-mobile this morning.  They are finally trying to help with this matter as well.

I think I can finally send text messages to my email via the internet but still am unable to use Outlook for Android so I guess I will have to contact Microsoft because I am now getting all emails except those from t-mobile to my Outlook application on my PC.

I greatly appreicate your responses!  Thank you.

  • the outlook deal you will need to contact them on..highly doubt any carrier would block specific apps/email accounts.. as for texts to email i do that about twice a week roughly at work..so not a limitation on TMO..i’ll try sending another one to my own email and see how it work.

fired through to my gmail and it came through almost instantly. ditto for my yahoo.

  • The latter, emails to one person.  I simply can’t send a text to a single email or an email to my phone.  I also am completely unable to set up Outlook in the android app.  I continually get the connection to server timed out message.  Thanks.

  • are you trying to send the text to email through a mass messaging system to numerous people or just basically from your phone to one individuals email?
