My Phone Has Been Fraudulently Blacklisted

Evening,

This week on Monday, February 27th as I arrived to work in the morning I noticed my iPhone 12 Pro/256GB was on SOS mode. After spending most of my work day going back and forth between Apple and my phone services company (Koodo Mobile) doing SIM swaps and various diagnostic tests it was determined my local SIM card was fine but my phone was potentially blacklisted.

I called my phone company's customer service department and they confirmed the phone was blacklisted, but by T-Mobile USA. That raises an issue because I live in Toronto, Canada. I'm born and raised here, work here, and have no T-Mobile services. T-Mobile is not available in Canada.

On Monday night I called T-Mobile to rectify the situation after two separate 1-hour long phone calls, on the 3rd call at 9:48 p.m. EST I got a hold of a person at T-Mobile named Arriane who identified herself as a supervisor-manager.

After providing my IMEI, Arriane confirmed that the phone was somehow blacklisted by T-Mobile on February 23rd. That makes no sense because a) I was working on the the 23rd and from that day up until the 27th my phone was working fine b) I am in Toronto, Canada...how can someone blacklist a phone that's located in another country?

At this point I'm an emotional wreck. So Arriane said since I have proof of purchase/receipt of the phone's purchase in June 2021 that all I have to do is go into the store and have a representative call T-Mobile to confirm the details and the phone would be whitelisted back and I can use my phone which I paid $1500 Canadian for.

Today, March 1st, I came to Apple's Wireless Wave store here in Toronto, where I purchased the phone. They pulled my my receipt with the IMEI and called T-Mobile to rectify the situation based off the guidance Arriane gave me.

To this point it has turned into a mess, the representative here at Apple's Wireless Wave has spoken to T-Mobile 3 different times where we've been transferred all over the place by T-Mobile care reps who clearly don't understand or have common sense.

The only time I’ve had T-Mobile service was last summer, June 2022. I was visiting New York City like I do every summer for the past 20 years and like I’ve done in the past I bought a pre-paid (pay as you go) SIM card for my 12-day stay. It was a $50 a month plan which covered my stay. As usual with pre-paid plans I didn’t top-up again after my stay because I didn’t need the number.

One of the T-Mobile reps had told me that when they bring up that pre-paid (718) # I had, it shows the IMEI attached to it (my phone) was blacklisted/reported stolen?! HOW?!!

Also, doing some due diligence I found on T-Mobile's website this community forum with a history of various threads and posts from people who have had their phone fraudulently blacklisted with T-Mobile when they have no ties or services with the company.

I am not a rich person and I have 2 senior citizens to care for daily when I'm not at work, so my phone is imperative in my daily life.

I need to get this phone, which was blacklisted illegally back in service. Any guidance and help is appreciated.
