Some phone numbers now showing up as +52 (Mexico), errors receiving
This is happening to numbers already saved in my contacts.
Ex: My wife texts or calls me it now comes in as +52 then her number. +52 is Mexico’s country code. We went to Mexico in Aug and this was not an issue then. Only been an issue for the past couple weeks. It’s also happening to a handful of other contacts in my phone who did not go to Mexico.
I’ve attempted to save this new number as another number under their profile, but it just keeps happening.
And now my wife’s texts and calls simply aren’t coming thru at all. I can see her history on her iphone and there’s imply nothing on my andriod.
I have a Galaxy S22+
Wife has Iphone 13 Pro Max
Pretty sure the issue is with my phone since there are other contacts in mine w/ this issue

This issue is also happening to me but I only noticed it after coming back from Mexico. +52 is the country for Mexico City but I was only in Cancun and Playa de Carmen. It is even showing up on people who I did not text, call while I was out of the country. I have reached out to my dedicated business expert at T-Mobile and going to be calling Google One but relieved to know I am not alone.

I'm starting to see a possible pattern. The +52 numbers showing up in my contacts are all former Sprint customers.
Hey, TMo, care to comment please?

The only time I can find a reason for this to happen, is when a user flashed a combination ROM that was overseas based. It was specifically on an Xenos version which didn't support the Snapdragon base but there are overseas models that do support the Snapdragon CPU's as well

Glad to know others are experiencing the same issue. I've had this issues for months with no success from T Mobile. I have tried adding the contact again to my phone and it still does not display the name and comes back with the 52 in front of it. I have the Samsung Galaxy 22 Plus and had many issues since. To add to this issue, some of my text messages are not being delivered and I am not receiving them all. I use this phone for my business and I am totally frustrated!

That’s bizarre. I’ve never heard of anything like this.

Have you tried to reach out to Samsung to see if they are aware of the issue? I haven’t had this issue with any of my OnePlus devices. The only time extra digits are required to be dialed when calling North America, is from overseas. Calls made from North America to a North American number are always dialed, 1 plus the 10 digit number, 123-456-7890.
From all of the recent issues with Samsungs though having connectivity issues. It seems like either the firmwares have been mixed up through an update or that these are non-T-Mobile purchased devices that have been flashed to have their firmware changed to be resold as a different model. These are just guesses though.I had a friend recently bring me an S21 they bought at Pacific Mall up here in Toronto well known for selling modified phones. They had an Asian model of the device that was hybrid flashed with the Canadian firmware. When the phone updated to a firmware that had a modem update, it made the device practically useless here until I reflashed the modem.
