how to take a screenshot on a galaxy a14

With what T-Mobile says, is to hold down the down volume and power button at the same time.  All I get is either the volume goes down or the power shutdown screen comes up.  Has anyone have any luck?

    You are holding it too long if you are getting the shut down menu. It should be a quick press at the same time.

    If you have the 3 button navigation enabled you can press the square button on the bottom right in the last couple versions of Android.
