I totally get the frustration—I've run into a similar issue before with my S10. Sometimes, after updates or just randomly, the phone doesn't prompt the USB options. One thing that helped me was enabling "File Transfer" manually from Developer Options, or trying the Samsung Smart Switch on PC as a workaround. Also, for quick edits or backup when direct transfer fails, I sometimes use cloud tools or apps like Photoleap PC alternatives to access and edit my images until the connection issue resolves.
