upgrading cell phones within t mobile can i use new sim card and keep old phone number?

I have a t mobile android cell phone and am uPdating to a new Samsung cell phone.  I want to keep old phone number.  If I insert new SIM card into new phone will it keep the old cell phone number?

    You can.  You will need the number printed on the SIM card to give to Customer Care to move your number to that SIM.  Once they do, the current SIM in your other device will stop working.

    Yes but you need to do a transfer to the new sim. You used to be do this in your Mytmobile account.
