Bait and switch
We went to our local T-Mobile store to check on the "$1000 rebate on S25". We were on a $120 a month for four lines plan, and were told it didn't qualify. As we were leaving an employee told us that he "found a plan that works"-the Go G5 55 plan for $120 for four lines (my wife and I are over 55 so we qualified). He also promised that it qualified for the $1000 per phone discount. It required sending in the phones by 3/3/25. My wife wanted to wait for the bill to be certain, but that would mean we lost the discount, so we sent them. We received the first bill today and it's for $180 a month, only $500 rebate per phone (nothing to do with quality of the returns-they are prefect but still being examined). This plan only qualifies for half. We were also offered the "Go G5 Plus 55" for $220 a month for $1000 a phone, both "offers" FAR more than the originally stated contract. We even had it "guaranteed" a second time after my wife got paranoid and called T-Mobile's customer service and "Adrian" told us that the plan MIGHT not qualify, so he suggested we return to the store. We did so, and the employee "went in the back room to talk to his regional manager" for about 20 minutes, then came out and ASSURED us that the plan DID qualify, was $120 A MONTH and $1000 rebate per phone. This is a PURE "bait and switch". We can't just go back to our old plan because now our phones are gone and T-Mobile refuses to return them. We are now stuck paying about $100 more a month when we NEVER would have upgraded the phones under that set of circumstances. As far as I can tell, this violates the Federal FTC Act as well as three CA laws: The FTC has issued a Notice that it has determined that bait and switch sales practices are unfair or deceptive trade practices, and violate the FTC Act. CA state Business and Professions Code (B&P) Section 17500: This section prohibits unfair, deceptive, or fraudulent business practices, which includes bait-and-switch tactics. California Code of Regulations, Title 4, Division 3, Article 10, False or Misleading Advertising: This section specifically addresses bait-and-switch advertising. Cal. Code Regs. . 4, § 1304.1 - Bait and Switch Advertising: This regulation outlines the specifics of unlawful bait-and-switch practices. T-Mobile REFUSED to escalate me to a manager and only gave me a PO box for their legal department. This is a HORRIBLE way to do business. it is illegal, likely criminal, and you have pissed me off enough that I now have reported it to the FTC, the FCC, and the CA State AG's office. I also know several DDAs at the Alameda County DA's office who are being consulted.TVMADoc4 hours agoRoaming Rookie307Views4likes4CommentsT-Mobile Cyber Security
I'm not seeing much posted here about it but this is very well the cause of problems with not being able to connect to certain known common web sites. It caused some similar problems for me. It's easy enough to disable it in the T-Life app to see if it solves your particular connection problem. You can easily turn it back on. In my case videos in a chat box on another forum didn't appear when connected to my T-Mobile Home internet. I switched off Cyber Security and they instantly appeared. I spent 3 hours the day before trying to solve it. I hope this helps someone.dwcraig14 hours agoNetwork Novice13Views0likes0Comments- cotterman08086 hours agoVisitor12Views0likes1Comment
Active Duty Military Deployment
Does T-Mobile still waive the international roaming charges while service members are deployed over seas? Last time I deployed over seas, I submitted my active duty military orders and was able to submit my orders and still use my T-Mobile phone during deployment. I will be leaving for Kuwait soon and would like to do this as soon as possible if it is still an option. Thank you, have a great day!whtnylake11 hours agoNewbie Caller6.8KViews1like8CommentsSelect Employment Verification" doent show under profile.

I received a text from T-mobile. They said I could buy 2 I phones get $700 off one, and receive a free line. I called T-mobile, they checked my account and said yes you definitely qualify. I then went into a chat session and asked again and they again said yes I qualify(I have the print out) So I went into the Store, I again, in front of 2 other live witnesses , asked them to check and see that this promotion was available to my plan before purchasing the 2 I phones. Again, they called spoke to another manager and yes they said all was good. So we purchased the I phones, received the new sim card for the new line and everything was fine. Until I got my bill, T-mobile was charging me $10 for the new line plus the other fees( fees which I already knew I would have to pay. I am not opposing those fees. ) So I chatted with T-Mobile, the rep agreed (I have it from the chat printout) I should not be charged, he took the fee off and said that all was good. Low and behold next month the $10 charge was again on my bill. I again called up another rep Christopher. He said yes I see the problem. He again removed the $10 charge and said that it was taken care of……Nope, next month the same thing I talked to another girl Crystal, she again agreed that I had did everything correct and there was just a delay in the billing. She took the $10 fee off and she begged me and I mean begged me to say that the problem was solved. I refused and told her until I see that the charge is not on my monthly statement I would not say the problem was resolved. She reluctantly said ok. Guess what the next month the $10 charge was their again!!!!! So I went into the T-Mobile store and at first they said they would take care of it then they started saying no this was only for some other promotion???? What??? I confirmed several times, printed from chats and if I wasn’t eligible why would they all have said I was and agreed to take off the charges??? So the manager at the store, Said he agreed and would look into it. I sent him all the chats, the copy of the texts, everything. This guy tells me later that the girl that he was working with to get it resolved was let go and there was nothing he could do??? WHAT? Was there only one individual in the company that could take care of this???? To me this is clearly a bait and switch scheme that T-Mobile is trying to pull off. Much like their “oh if we merge with Sprint we will create jobs” but now we know that T-Mobile is laying off 5000 employees. So I need to know how to escalate this and if anyone else out there experienced something similar so I can present it to the attorney general and the fcc.SolvedBaitandswitch13 hours agoNewbie Caller18KViews8likes37CommentsPLEASE IF YOU HAVE MOVED CHECK YOUR BILLS
This had been a crazy week. I reached out to T-Mobile on 2/6/24 to discuss why my bill was still rising after I removed a line and also removed a device protection from one of my lines. upon reviewing my bill, I noticed that they had taxes and fees for two addresses. Now this wouldn’t be an issue if I hadn’t updated my address upon moving to my new home, but I did. I learned that T-Mobile has been charging me an extra 33.34 every month for the past 4 years and 7 months which kind of totals up to 18 hundred and change. After speaking to them and disputing the charges they called me today on 2/9/24 and said that it was nothing they could do because some of the lines were still registered at my old address. Now the main issue is that the lines associated with my old address are all minors. However, I’m the account holder and every device has been shipped to my current home how is this possible? To tell me after 7 years of being a customer that there is nothing that can be done is absurd. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated. T-Mobile should be held accountable and not allowed to overcharge their customers.Solved317Views0likes4CommentsBeing charged fees and taxes on old addresses
I recently looked back at my billing history, and I am being charged T-Mobile fees and charges as well as government taxes on fees on 3 separate addresses. One address I haven’t lived at in over 10 years, and the other address I moved from 4 years ago. Has anyone had that happen to them?okbye21014 hours agoRoaming Rookie2.8KViews3likes25CommentsApril 2025 New Plans ???
I have T Mobile ONE Plan Plus Promo 2018 which does have price lock but new CEO states otherwise. 5 lines and Home Internet for $140 Im on ONE Plan: l receive 20% off the bill, I have 2 free lines, each line has kickbacks -$10 if under 2gb of data on line, Netflix and Hulu on US. I have heard about the new plans, Tmo is offering. Are the new plans worth it or should I stay with my ONE PLAN? Which is less than $140 a month. I just have a feeling that the prices are going to keep going up or services will change. Anyone care to chime in to elaborate?ErronGraf014 hours agoNetwork Novice28Views0likes1Comment
