Living and working in Germany with Google Fi need to switch to T-Mobile

Living and working in Germany with Google Fi need to switch to T-Mobile, but would like to keep my US phone number.

Best way to go about that?

You would need a SIM card for starters, which T-Mobile will not ship you outside of the US.  If you don’t live in the US, T-Mobile will not want to sell you service that will potentially be disconnected for excessive roaming, whether you are prepaid or postpaid.  Postpaid service requires a SSN or a TIN or a Student Visa number, etc, to get a postpaid account.  Roaming on prepaid is very hit and miss, mostly miss.  Most importantly, T-Mobile’s extended roaming policy will disconnect you if your usage is more than 50% roaming or more.  Have you considered porting your number to Google Voice?
