Migration

So.. T Mobile is forcing Sprint customers to migrate accounts over to T Mobile. I attempted to migrate my account today, and was told I have to pay the balance of my current phone. As of now it appears that the migration has to be done by middle of March. Does anyone know what happens if the current phone has a balance?

Yeah, the migration process is not smooth- sprint folks are told that they should come to T-Mobile and get something like $800 to $1000 on the old phone, but rather than stating that and paying off the balance with that, they low-ball the trade-in value and take whatever for the old phone balance, as if they another company. It’s not ethical nor good business to pull folks into what is the same company (Sprint being part of T-Mobile) and make money in the process. They should make it so that at the end of the migration, customers are better off, financially as well as with a new phone. Frustrating, but not ethical when they don’t fix the problems Sprint creates by helping themselves to old phone money without T-Mobile making it clear that you are in the process of migrating.
